It’s in the Cards
What is it?
A social event built around a simple trading game.
When you arrive, you pick an envelope. Inside is a random trading card to a local café, restaurant, shop or experience.
As you talk and move around the room, you can trade your card with anyone. The goal is to end up with a card to somewhere you like.
Near the end of the event, names are drawn. If your name is chosen, you win a real gift card to the place that you’re holding.
That’s it!
The cards give a natural reason to approach someone, and it also gives you a reason to keep moving.
Many people attend on their own, and the format is designed to make that comfortable.
Why it works
Everyone begins with a card, and everyone is curious about what others have.
That creates an easy, low pressure way to approach someone and ask about their card.
There are no group games or forced introductions. You talk when you want to, to who you want, and the cards give you a natural reason to start a conversation.
